PERDIDO KEY, Fla. (WKRG) — Former Escambia County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Greg Nesmith is accused of hitting the two people on Perdido Key Drive in July. Now, he and his legal team are taking action to have the arrest warrant dismissed, arguing there’s no probable cause for vehicular homicide charges.

The crash happened as Nesmith was leaving an off-duty security job at Flora-Bama in an unmarked sheriff’s vehicle.
“He wasn’t drinking. He wasn’t doing drugs. It’s 3 o’clock in the morning,” Crawford Law Attorney Chris Crawford said.
According to the arrest report, Nesmith was traveling around 70 miles per hour in a 45 zone along Perdido Key Drive on his way back to Pensacola when he approached the intersection of River Road…
