Richmond, VA – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for much of central and southeastern Virginia through 9 a.m. Tuesday, as sub-freezing temperatures overnight are expected to cause a refreeze of melted snow and moisture on area roads, according to the National Weather Service Wakefield.

While snowfall has ended across most of the region, including Richmond, Petersburg, Emporia, and parts of the Virginia Eastern Shore, forecasters warn that slick conditions will redevelop overnight. The combination of wet pavement and temperatures in the teens and 20s could produce black ice, especially on bridges, overpasses, and untreated roadways…
