Jabil has opened a new Advanced Catheter Development Lab at its St. Petersburg, FL, headquarters, the company announced on LinkedIn. The contract development and manufacturing partner to OEMs said that the lab will expand its capabilities in minimally invasive medical device technology.
Part of the Jabil Innovation Center, the lab will focus on engineering, prototyping, and new product introduction for advanced catheters and other devices. Jabil specialists will work alongside faculty from the University of Florida and University of South Florida to develop next-generation medical devices based on real-world experiences in the operating room, the company added.
Jabil and its collaborators are “focused on investments in support of medical advances that are making procedures less invasive, more precise, and — most importantly — leading to better outcomes for patients,” said Michael Mahaz, SVP of global business units, healthcare. “This new lab will support universities and major healthcare brands in advancing catheter development and meeting the growing demand for these important tools,” said Mahaz in the LinkedIn post…
