SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — As part of a mission to expand nursing education, Galen College of Nursing, an affiliate of Memorial Health, celebrated the opening of its new Savannah campus.
The campus’ opening comes at a critical time, as Georgia is projected to face one of the nation’s most severe nursing shortages with an expected deficit of 21% by 2035, according to the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
That deficit would result in fewer than 750 nurses per 100,000 residents…
