Des Moines Public Schools allocates $20,000 to audit former superintendent Roberts’ spending

DES MOINES, Iowa (KCCI) – Des Moines Public Schools will spend $20,000 to audit spending related to its former Superintendent Ian Roberts, KCCI reports.

The school board voted Tuesday to allocate additional funds to a firm it had already hired for previous auditing work. The State Auditor has also opened a review of the district’s spending.

ICE officials detained Roberts in September, and he resigned days later from the top role of the state’s largest school district. He is now facing federal immigration charges…
