BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. – An elderly inmate from Bernalillo County’s Metropolitan Detention Center is dead after he was hospitalized with pneumonia.
William Pierce Howell, 89, was booked in December of 2023 and accused of killing Rastko Starcevic.
He was taken to UNM Hospital on Nov. 2 this year, where he was diagnosed with pneumonia.
