Man, 24, trying to free entangled shark bit: Police

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Hawaiʻi Police Department responded to a shark bite at Kaʻaluʻalu Beach on Dec. 9.

Police received a report of the shark bite shortly before 4:30 p.m.

Man suffers apparent shark bite injury on North Shore

When first responders arrived at the scene, they found a 24-year-old Holualoa man who was diving with two others at the beach.

While diving, they said they saw a blacktip reef shark entangled in rope and fishing gear approximately 40 yards from shore…
