Brisk and Colder Thursday. Another Hit of Snow Friday – First Alert Weather Day

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Decreasing clouds tonight, breezy and cold with lows in the 20s. Watch for icy spots, with refreeze from melted snow. Sunshine and some clouds Thursday, with some gusty winds and highs holding in the 30s to around 40 for most locations.

A quick moving storm and cold front moving out of the Ohio Valley, will approach and cross the region for Friday to bring some light snow. *First Alert Weather Day* Friday with some more accumulating snow. While snow amounts currently, look like one inch or less, across our area with the Blue Ridge Mountains one to two inches, the snow and morning arrival would still impact the commute and make for slick conditions. Stil some timing differences, but light snow likely to develop during the morning and then slowly taper during the afternoon. Temperatures in the upper 20s to mid 30s.

This weekend will serve up some quick changes. Saturday breezy and chilly with highs in the 40s and some sun. An Arctic front will approach and move across the region Sunday morning. Some light snow or flurries possible, before sunrise. Gradual clearing, brisk and colder Sunday with temperatures falling from the 30s down into the 10s by Sunday night. Wind chills expected in the single digits by Monday morning.

Cold start early next week, before temperatures show some rebound!
