A Leesburg man was arrested for battery after allegedly pushing an electrical worker off a ladder at a motel.
A deputy responded to a dispute involving 48-year-old Pritesh Patel at Econo Inn, located at 24926 U.S. Hwy. 27, Leesburg, around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The complainant advised that there was a disagreement over payment for electrical work at the motel.
According to him, the electrical work caused issues with the building’s electricity, including lights blinking and systems such as credit card machines and printers not working. The motel requested the workers fix the issue or provide a discount, and an agreement was eventually reached for a discount and finished repairs. However, one of the workers began unscrewing and removing parts of the work already completed, the report said.
This worker stated he and his father had come to finish the job and expected payment when they got done. However, Patel had not paid, so the father advised that they were not going through with the work.
