Tamarac Commissioner Marlon Bolton was appointed vice mayor at Wednesday’s city commission meeting, marking his second time in the role since being elected in 2016.
The appointment means Bolton will serve as acting mayor whenever Mayor Michelle Gomez is unavailable. His one-year vice mayor term is scheduled to run through December 2026.
Bolton previously served as vice mayor in 2019 and has been a prominent figure on the commission for nearly a decade, according to the city.
