Rock salt is used by many to combat the impacts of intense Winter weather in Central New York. Now, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has come out with a campaign educating people about the impacts that rock salt could have.
The campaign, ‘Don’t be Salty New York’, is an effort to have residents reduce their rock salt usage this season. The D.E.C. went on to say that using an excessive amount of rock salt could be costly for the environment.
