Directions Credit Union Donates $20,000 to Area Food Banks to Support Local Families This Winter

Directions Credit Union has donated $20,000 to eight food banks in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. The donations are part of its 2025 food bank campaign. The goal is to help address food insecurity during the winter. Each food bank received an amount based on the population it serves. The Toledo Northwestern Ohio Food Bank received $8,000, the largest share. Other recipients include the Monroe County Opportunity Program and Catholic Charities HOPE Pantry.

The campaign used social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Directions Credit Union pledged $1 for every like on its posts, up to $20,000. The maximum amount was reached through community participation.

Barry Shaner, President and CEO of Directions Credit Union, said the organization values supporting local communities, especially during the holidays.
