Drivers on River Road will soon have to slow down, after a state panel voted to lower the speed limit Dec 9.
The Oregon Speed Zone Review Panel, which evaluates requests from local governments to change speed limits, approved a request from Eugene and Lane County to lower the speed limit on River Road through the Santa Clara area.
The speed limit along River Road will lower to 35 miles per hour from Azalea Drive to north of Beacon Drive. Currently the speed limit is 40 miles per hour for most of that stretch, and 45 miles per hour at the northern end…
