BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The Birmingham City Council on Tuesday approved $173,067 to purchase body-worn cameras for Birmingham Fire and Rescue.
Fire officials say the cameras will not be used on day-to-day calls but will instead be worn by paramedics and fire investigators. They say having a clearer visual record of what happened on scene can make a significant difference during investigations.
