Stabbings on Charlotte’s light-rail leave residents uneasy, as 66% say safety has declined

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TNND) — Two out of three people who live in Charlotte, North Carolina, said they feel less safe now than they did this time last year as concerns increase after two stabbings on the city’s light-rail system.

“Compared to a year ago, do you feel that the greater Charlotte area is safer, less safe, or about the same?” the survey asked, with 923 people responding.

A pie chart revealed that 65.98% of the people who participated in the survey said they feel less safe, while 30.12% said they feel about the same, and 3.90% said they feel more safe…
