CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Albemarle County Supervisor Mike Pruitt says he’s still in the running to be the Democratic nominee for the 5th Congressional District.
Since former U.S. Congressman Tom Perriello announced his bid for the 5th District this week, a few Democratic candidates have either dropped out of the race or suspended their campaigns. That includes Adele Stichel, a Charlottesville attorney and activist, who dropped out to endorse Perriello. Paul Riley, a Crozet veteran, suspended his campaign on Wednesday.
“The goal is defeating John McGuire, and we all have to be on the same team,” Riley’s press release reads. “With so many candidates in this primary, we risk losing sight of that.”…
