Chattanooga secures funding to replace bridge that has been closed for nearly a decade

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A Chattanooga neighborhood has waited nearly a decade for a bridge to be rebuilt. Now, the city finally announced it has received the funding to get it replaced.

The Standifer Gap Road bridge closed in 2016. It was set to be rebuilt in 2020 and again in 2022.

But no progress was made, leaving residents in the dark about why it closed for years…
