A new Fayetteville event, born of concerns over Fuquay-Varina’s request to take water from the Cape Fear River, is one that its organizers hope becomes a holiday tradition.
Aaron Sweat, the owner of Cumberland Marine, said Dec. 11 that a Christmas flotilla — featuring boats decorated for the holiday — will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at Campbellton Landing on the Cape Fear River.
