Jury finds man guilty of killing ex-girlfriend in Spartanburg Co. home

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — A man was found guilty of shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend at a home in Spartanburg County in February 2024.

The Seventh Circuit Solicitor’s Office said 39-year-old Juan Canino Tobon was sentenced to a total of 55 years in prison for multiple charges for the killing of 30-year-old Caroline Marie Hall.

Tobon reportedly shot Hall, his former girlfriend, at her home on Triple Crown Way on February 2. The couple were living together and had recently broken up, but he was still in the process of moving out of the house.
