Lancaster man to serve up to 12 years in prison for attacking officers, smearing urine and feces in holding cell

LANCASTER, Pa. — A homeless man will serve up to 12 years in state prison after pleading guilty last month to assaulting several Lancaster Police officers and trying to disarm one of them after trashing his holding cell with his own urine and feces, the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office said.

Robinson Evaristo Pena, 39, pleaded guilty on Nov. 20 to five counts of aggravated assault, three counts assault of a law enforcement officer, two counts of institutional vandalism and one count each of disarming a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and a single summary offense, the DA’s Office said.

He was sentenced to a prison term of 5-12 years by Lancaster County Judge Thomas Sponaugle, who told Pena he behaved “like an animal” during the incident, which occurred last April…
