Man arrested after rock thrown at ambulance, injuring paramedic

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – A paramedic was injured Thursday morning after someone threw a rock through an ambulance window, highlighting what officials say is a growing problem of violence against first responders.

Around 10:25 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Newtown Pike and New Circle Road for an individual throwing rocks at passing vehicles.

One of the vehicles struck was a Georgetown-Scott County Ambulance. The rock broke the ambulance window and struck the driver in the face as the unit was returning to Georgetown from dropping off a patient at a Lexington hospital…
