Former DA says Stockton shooting shows signs of gang retaliation

STOCKTON, Calif. — Twelve days after a mass shooting at a toddler’s birthday party in Stockton, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office says all victims have been released from the hospital, but none of the shooters are in custody.

Four people were killed and 13 were hurt when at least five shooters opened fire inside a banquet hall on Lucile Avenue as party-goers were about to cut the cake, according to witnesses and investigators. Nearly 50 shell casings were found at the scene.

The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office said two people who attended the party — including the 2-year-old’s father, Luciano Guerrero — were arrested in the days after the shooting on parole violations…
