Nashville authorities have reported the arrest of Antiwane Smith, a 43-year-old convicted felon, in connection with an October shooting incident in Edgehill. According to official sources, the shooting took place on October 11 on the 1100 block of DeFord Bailey Avenue and left a 49-year-old man injured. Smith, whose history includes felony drug possession convictions, now faces charges for attempted criminal homicide, reckless endangerment, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, among others.
Surveillance footage played a key role in the investigation, capturing images of an individual, armed with a pistol, who slowly moved towards the scene before the shooting. Authorities have confirmed that the victim was able to positively identify Smith as the alleged shooter. As a result, Smith was arrested and charged, and he is currently held on a $185,000 bond. The gravity of the charges reflects the severity of the offenses and Smith’s previous convictions.
