San Diego City Council passes FLOCK surveillance ordinance

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The FLOCK surveillance ordinance passed 5 to 3 on Tuesday evening, after an eight-hour debate.

Hundreds of residents lined up to push back on the San Diego citywide program, which monitors license plates and transmits the data to the San Diego Police Department.

Activists and residents worry about the possibility that the federal government might use the data to surveil San Diegans and immigrants in ICE raids…
