Owner of one of the dogs found in back of U-Haul speaks out

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Rodney Coley is being held at the Lucas County Jail after police said he led them on a chase in a U-Haul truck that ended with the discovery of three dogs in the vehicle.

The chase began when Toledo police responded to a kidnapping report on Northwood near Central and Monroe. Officers said Coley was driving the U-Haul when they attempted to stop him.

“Kidnapping is a very serious crime; we are not going just going to let somebody drive away from something like that,” said Mark King, manager of the OPOTA Program at Owens Community College and a law enforcement expert with 30 years of policing experience…
