CRCSD weighs options to address budget deficit

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – From cutting out snacks at staff meetings to reducing paid time off to consolidating schools, all options are on the table for Cedar Rapids school leaders when it comes to addressing a multi-million dollar budget deficit.

The district faces an $11 million funding gap next year. That’s carryover from this year’s deficit, salary increases, and a drop in enrollment with students attending schools outside the district.
