CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A vehicle fire on Interstate 37 temporarily shut down the outside northbound lane near mile marker 19 Thursday, according to the San Patricio County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Oscar Rivera said the driver had recently purchased the vehicle three days ago and pulled over after experiencing mechanical issues. When the driver opened the hood, the engine area caught fire.
Deputies and fire crews responded to the scene and were able to contain the blaze. No injuries were reported…
