Driver in fatal crash on Madison’s southwest side pleads guilty, sentencing date set

MADISON, Wis. — The 21-year-old man accused of killing a woman in a crash on Madison’s southwest side earlier this year pleaded guilty to one charge Thursday afternoon, online court records show.

Rayan Bertrand pleaded guilty to homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.​ He previously faced nearly a dozen charges including first-degree reckless homicide and first-degree recklessly endangering safety, but those have since been dismissed.
