NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is trying to solve three hit and run cases, all of them happening in less than a one month period. The cases are the latest ones to roll on the Wheel of Justice.
The most recent case happened on Nov. 21 at the corner of Chef Menteur Highway and Majestic Oaks Drive. According to police, two men were hit as they tried to cross Chef Hwy. and one of them died at the scene. A couple weeks later, police released a security camera image that shows the car that is believed to have been involved. It’s described as a silver 2007-2009 Mercury Sable. They believe it may have damage to its front end.
New Orleans police looking to solve hit-and-run death of tourist in Garden District
On Oct. 30, the NOPD says a couple who was visiting the city from New Orleans were hit by a car in the Garden District at the corner of Prytania and Third streets. The husband was killed, and his wife required hospitalization. Police have released no additional information in this case.
Two days prior to the Garden District case, police say a man was hit and killed by a pickup truck in the 3300 block of General Meyer Avenue. Police released a security camera image of the truck that they believed was involved. They believe it was a gray Nissan.
