On Sunday, November 23rd, 2025, at approximately 4:16 p.m., members of the Plainfield Police Department, along with several surrounding law enforcement agencies, responded to a report of a barricaded subject, later identified as Ryan D. Harter, who was in possession of a firearm in the 25400 block of West Springview Court in Plainfield, Illinois.
After approximately four hours of negotiation, Harter was taken into protective custody and transported to a local hospital.
