The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington will host its annual ‘Walk with Mary’ pilgrimage on Saturday, December 13, 2025. The event honors the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe and is expected to attract thousands of participants from the local Catholic community and other areas. The pilgrimage highlights the cultural diversity and unity of Catholics in the region. This year, the event will also focus on prayers and support for migrants and refugees.
The procession will start at 11:00 a.m. at the Shrine of the Sacred Heart at 16th Street and Park Road NW. Participants will walk through Washington, D.C., and finish at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception at 4th Street and Michigan Avenue NE. The Holy Rosary will be prayed at 1:00 p.m., followed by Mass at 2:00 p.m. Cardinal Robert McElroy will be the principal celebrant. Auxiliary Bishop Evelio Menjívar will deliver the homily. Other concelebrants include Cardinal Christophe Pierre, the Apostolic Nuncio to the United States, and Auxiliary Bishops Juan Esposito and Roy E. Campbell Jr.
