ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – It’s a stunning confession from a suspected murderer. A man claimed a cockroach convinced him to kill two people at a South Valley home.

Last month, Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a South Valley home after receiving reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they said Alexis Hernandez had a gun in his waistband and a Marine Corps sabre on his hip.

Shortly after deputies detain Hernandez, they hear a child yelling for help in Spanish. That’s when deputies found two dead men inside the home. One of the victims was Hernandez’s landlord, Hector Rios. Hernandez had only lived at the home for six months, but he claimed Rios started stalking him…
