Women-led Habitat for Humanity build set for Boise in March 2026

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — CBS2 and Fox9 have teamed up with Habitat for Humanity to launch a women-led home construction project in Boise, set to begin next March. The initiative, which kicked off earlier this week at Prolatariat, aims to empower women in the construction industry by involving mainly women at all levels and phases.

“Habitat for Humanity has a long history of encouraging women in the construction trades,” said Janessa Chastain, CEO of Treasure Valley Habitat for Humanity.

“Our goal is to have all the volunteer teams be groups of women that have come together to fundraise and work together to build this house with primarily female-led subcontracting companies to really show the power of women in this industry, where sometimes they can be overlooked or underrepresented.”…
