[1] Tim Keller wins 3rd term as Albuquerque mayor – Incumbent Mayor Tim Keller has won a third term in office, beating challenger Darren White. In the runoff races for city council, Stephanie Telles beat Joshua Neal for the District 1 seat. In District 3, incumbent Klarissa Peña beat out Teresa Garcia.

[2] New Mexico CYFD requests $422.3M budget – The New Mexico CYFD is requesting $422.3 million for FY27, which is a nearly 5% increase. CYFD went in front of the Legislative Finance Committee on Tuesday to make its case for the budget. CYFD currently has 2,429 full-time employees and is looking to hire 379 more open positions. During their presentation, CYFD said they currently have 2,130 kids in their care. The next legislative session will be a 60-day session. It begins on January 20, 2026.

[3] Record highs more likely ahead & still breezy – A stretch of unseasonably warm weather shows no signs of letting up as record and near record high temperatures are possible later this week. The west/northwesterly wind is bringing in warmer temperatures again today, with highs climbing 5° to 15° warmer than average. The warmest weather this week across will be Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. High temperatures could climb 10° to over 20° warmer than average…
