Shane R. Driscoll, 32, of Baltimore, has been charged with three felonies after an investigation by the Albemarle County Police Department. The investigation began in September 2025, when a victim reported being assaulted by a man using the name Wayne Washington. The suspect had traveled to Charlottesville after meeting the victim on a dating app.
Driscoll was arrested last week. On December 1, 2025, he was indicted on charges of rape, abduction, and making a written threat. He is being held without bond at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.
