Investigation ongoing into Boston street takeover that led to Norwalk 19-year-old’s arrest

Authorities are continuing to investigate a Boston street takeover from this fall in which a police cruiser became fully engulfed in flames that led to the arrest of a 19-year-old Norwalk resident, according to court documents.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts filed a motion to impound certain documents in the case of David Moran-Chavez of Norwalk, making them not available for public disclosure, particularly the police report and the affidavit in support of the motion. The order of impoundment, signed by a judge on Tuesday, states that the motion was filed because the “police report contains sensitive and detailed information concerning an ongoing investigation.”

The Boston Police Department said investigators arrested David Antonio Moran, also known as David Moran-Chavez, at his home on the morning of Dec. 4 in connection with a street takeover.
