MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Police Department is looking for two teenage boys who allegedly escaped from Memphis Youth Academy, a youth treatment facility in Hickory Hill.
According to the facility’s website, Memphis Youth Academy is contracted by the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services and “serves adjudicated youth who need intensive mental health treatment.”
A statement from MPD said officers responded to the facility around 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11. When they arrived, an administrator told police that two 16-year-old boys hid in the restroom during “head count” before escaping through the ceiling to the roof and ultimately jumping a fence…
