(FOX 5/KUSI) — The wife of a top Sinaloa Cartel leader was sentenced in federal court in San Diego for her role in a massive drug trafficking and money laundering conspiracy, prosecutors revealed in a news release on Monday.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California, 38-year-old Claudia Patricia Alvarez Hernandez, the wife of incarcerated Sinaloa Cartel kingpin Jorge Alberto Valenzuela Valenzuela, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison.
She has been ordered to forfeit more than $5 million dollars’ worth of luxury goods, including watches, jewelry and vehicles, as well as bulk cash that was all seized during the case.
