CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. (WECT) – The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will perform their exciting demonstration show in front of crowds along Carolina Beach on September 11-12, 2027.
The recently rescheduled Wings Over Carolina Beach Air Show will be a precursor to the arrival of the Thunderbirds squadron the following year. After being canceled on its original date of Friday, December 6, 2025, the show is now planned for April 24-26, 2026, according to a release sent by Wilmington International Airport.
“This smaller scale air show will provide a great opportunity for our community to enjoy aerial performances and for area businesses to see the benefit and prepare for the larger air show the following year,” stated Jeff Bourk, Director of Wilmington International Airport said in an emailed news release. “We look forward to coordinating these air shows and seeing the enjoyment they bring, as well as the positive impact on local businesses from the influx of locals, visitors, and performers.”…
