Jury convicts man in Appleton overdose death; sentencing date to be determined

APPLETON (WLUK) – A jury convicted Eric Abresch of supplying the drugs used in a fatal overdose. Sentencing is set for Feb. 23.

Abresch was convicted Wednesday of first-degree reckless homicide for the August 2022 overdose at an Appleton home, court records show.

Julius Elmer, who allegedly provided the drugs to Abresch, is also charged. Elmer is scheduled to stand trial March 2, also on a reckless homicide charge.

In August 2022, police were called to investigate the death of a 42-year-old Appleton resident in the 500 block of E. Winnebago Street. The victim’s name has not been released…
