Saratoga Springs man gets up to 3 years in prison for accidental killing of roommate

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (WNYT) – A Saratoga Springs man who admitted to accidentally killing his roommate with a pellet-style gun was sentenced to up to 3 years in prison.

Brendan Carl, 26, shot Michael Collins in the back with a pellet-style long gun in the early morning hours of April 6 at their apartment on Warren Street.

Police arrived to find Collins unresponsive. He was taken to Albany Medical Center, but he was pronounced dead shortly after getting there…
