EFD firefighter injured in house fire

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – A house fire on 2500 South Green River Road has left one firefighter injured. Evansville Fire Department responded to the fire around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night after receiving calls of heavy smoke coming from the chimney and roof of the home.

Investigators believe the fire originated in the basement and proceeded to reach multiple floors.
