Loved ones remember FWPD officer who died after battle with brain cancer

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Fort Wayne Police Officer Justin Koehl died this week after a battle with brain cancer. He was 37.

Koehl joined the Fort Wayne Police Department in 2017. His colleagues described him as a “cop’s cop” who loved serving his community.

Koehl’s younger brother, Terry Garland, followed him into law enforcement, becoming an officer five years after Justin joined the force…
