A working fire alarm helped alert other residents to get to safety this Friday.
Chief Fire Inspector Don Sauer says the fire started when a resident was lighting a candle in his apartment around 10:30 this morning. The fire is being called “accidental.” A minor explosion was also triggered when rubbing alcohol spilled into an electrical outlet.
The wheelchair-bound resident and his home health care worker were taken to the hospital. They are okay, but the apartment unit they were in is currently unlivable…
