MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The ribbon is being cut on a $14-million project to revitalize the riverfront and preserve the cobblestone landing on Friday.
Memphis is home to the nation’s largest intact cobblestone riverfront landing, and in fact, it was built in the 1800s. But, over the years of use, it’s time for some much-needed repairs.
Out of the $14 million being spent preserving the historic cobblestone landing, four and a half million dollars will be spent on a new riverboat landing, which will be located near the Bass Pro Pyramid.
City leaders say the new home for the riverboats will also be ADA-compliant, as the city is trying to enhance the riverboat experience…
