MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A University of Memphis doctoral graduate received her regalia in her hospital room after being unable to attend Friday’s commencement ceremony.
Dr. Holly Staggs earned her PhD in Educational Psychology while battling Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. The battle took the ability to use her legs.
Staggs planned to attend commencement, even if she was “wheeled across the stage.” Instead, she was unable to leave her hospital room.
