Roanoke firefighters participate in annual Fill the Boot fundraising campaign

ROANOKE, Va. (WSET) — On December 13 and 14, you’ll spot firefighters in the area around Valley View Mall as the Roanoke Fire Department launches its annual Fill the Boot program.

Firefighters have been helping raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association since 1954. They’re continuing this year, hitting the streets to ask pedestrians, customers and motorists to help fill the boot.
