NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Officials with the North Little Rock Police Department said on Friday that the department has extradited and arrested a man wanted in connection with a December 2024 deadly shooting.
Officials said an Oct. 13 warrant was issued for the arrest of 25-year-old James Newman of Stuttgart in connection with the shooting death of 20-year-old Michael Cox on Dec. 21, 2024. Newman was being held on unrelated charges in Wyandotte County, Kansas, officials said, and was extradited to Arkansas on Dec. 9.

Newman is currently held at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Center and is facing charges of capital murder and criminal attempt to commit capital murder, officials said.
