73-year-old man with dementia, wife beaten by suspect who sideswiped their car

OAK LAWN, Ill. (WBBM) – An Illinois woman says she thought her 73-year-old husband was going to die when he was allegedly attacked by a man during a road rage incident.

Joseph and Deborah, who only wanted to be identified by their first names, say they fear for their safety after a road rage incident in Oak Lawn last month. The couple were near an intersection Nov. 28 when a man, identified by police as 41-year-old D’Angelo Groce, drove out of a gas station and cut them off as they tried to get into the right turn lane.

“When I tried to get over, he sped up and plowed into me,” Deborah said. “I got out of the car and said, ‘What the hell, dude?’ He didn’t say a word. He came up to me and pushed me. I went backwards, and when I went backwards, I landed on my elbows. My glasses went flying backwards.”…
