ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Hanukkah, the eight-day “festival of lights,” starts Sunday night, and celebrations are planned all over Alaska.
From ice menorahs to family-friendly activities and community celebrations, this Jewish holiday offers something for everyone. Here’s a list of events happening around the state.
Anchorage
On the first night of Hanukkah, the Alaska Jewish Campus will be hosting a family-friendly dinner and show from the XPOGO Stick Extreme Stunt Show. There will also be kid-friendly activities, including a 166-foot inflatable obstacle course, an olive-press workshop, candle-making, a dreidel bounce house and a giant Dreidel Piñata.
The event takes place on Sunday, Dec. 14, at 5 p.m. at the Egan Center. The event is open to the public, and tickets can be bought here.
Mat-Su
A menorah lighting on the first night of Hanukkah, Sunday, Dec. 12, will take place at the Upper Susitna Senior Center in Talkeetna. The event, scheduled for 3:30 p.m., will include delicious holiday treats, festive music, and fun activities for all ages. Admission is free and everyone is welcome…
